2What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you, take a booking and write the rental contract.
When you book online
- Full name, phone number or LINE, and e-mail
- Pick-up and return dates, times and places, car type, and the payment method you choose
- Any notes you type, such as a flight number, hotel name or child-seat request
When you send a message from the contact page
- Your name and how to reach you (phone, LINE ID, WhatsApp or e-mail)
- Pick-up and return dates, the car you are interested in and your message, if you fill them in
When you talk to us on LINE, by phone, WhatsApp, Messenger or e-mail
- Your display name, phone number, and the messages or pictures you send
- Proof of the booking-money transfer you send us
At pick-up and during the rental
- Details from the driving licence, International Driving Permit, Thai ID card or passport of the renter and any extra driver, to write the rental contract and check the drivers meet our terms
- Deposit and payment records, traffic tickets, tolls, and damage or accident reports, if any
When you visit this website
The website does not use analytics tools or advertising cookies at the moment. The booking system may use cookies it needs for the booking form to work, and the hosting provider may log technical data such as IP address and browser type to keep the service secure. If we start using analytics, we will update this policy first.
3What we use it for

We do not use your data to send you advertising unless you agree, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. If you do not give us data the rental contract needs, such as your driving licence, we cannot hand over a car.
4Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We only share what is needed with:
- Insurers, when an accident or damage needs a claim
- Police and government authorities, when the law requires it, for example traffic tickets
- Service providers we work with, such as the website and booking-system host, e-mail, and messaging apps (LINE, WhatsApp, Messenger), which process data to provide their service and have their own privacy policies
5Data sent outside Thailand
Some e-mail and messaging providers may store data on servers outside Thailand. We use providers that protect personal data and send them only what the service needs.
6How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: as long as needed to answer you
- Booking and rental-contract data: for the rental, and after return as long as needed for the deposit, traffic tickets, damage and insurance claims
- Accounting and tax records: for the period the law requires
When we no longer need it, we delete or destroy the data, or make it impossible to identify you.
7Keeping it safe
Only the people who need your data to serve you can access it, and the website uses an encrypted connection. We send bank details for booking money only through K Car Rent's own LINE account.
8Your rights
Under the PDPA you have the right to:
- See and get a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- Have data deleted or destroyed when we no longer need it
- Object to or restrict some uses of your data
- Receive or transfer your data in a common format
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it, at any time
Send a request through the contacts in section 9. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, and we reply within 30 days. If you think we have misused your data, you can complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).
